Job Summary
This position performs engineering work related to research, designing, and development of new products and interfacing the control systems related to Genset operation.
Job Functions (Essential)
  1. Design control system platforms
  2. Leverage global knowledge base to support R&D developments and customized deployments
  3. Program PLC's and HMI's to meet project requirements
  4. Develop special customer applications with MTU controls system
  5. Design controls system for R&D programs
  6. Interface electrical and mechanical applications and systems with the MTU controls system
  7. Work directly with controls and governor manufacturers to improve functionality and mitigate issues
  8. Specify, design, validate, and maintain networking systems
  9. Hardware responsibilities: network switches, control panels, PLC's, and other protective relays
  10. Work within a global electrical engineering organization
  11. Assist all areas of company with controls related issues
  12. Promotes a compliance culture in area of responsibility, and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct
  13. Perform other projects and as required.

Qualifications:

Qualifications (Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
Required:
  1. Bachelor's degree in engineering and 3 years of controls engineering experience; or 7 years of controls engineering experience
  2. Dependable, Creative, Versatile, Flexible and Team Orientated
  3. Strong programming skills (PLC programming, function block, structure text, scripted languages, Boolean/digital logic).
  4. Strong device communication skills (TCP-IP, Modbus and CANbus)
  5. Strong knowledge of power systems (fundamentals, paralleling system management, power electronics)
  6. Strong ability to organize and manage multiple tasks
  7. Strong ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints, line drawings and ladder diagrams
  8. Ability to travel to customer and manufactures sites
Preferred:
1. Battery container and Fuel cell development experience
