Paint Prep Associate


We are looking for a Paint Prep Associate who will report to the Paint Prep Supervisor. You will be tasked with cleaning and preparing substrate for application of primer and paint. As part of your role, you'll work on a team where we're creating new ways to get people moving forward, where their experiences are measured by emotion rather than distance. YOU'LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:


  • Dispose of hazardous waste in an appropriate manner.

  • Remove grease, dirt, or paint from boat surfaces in preparation for paint application, using abrasives or solvents.

  • Mask surfaces with tape or paper in order to protect them from paint.

  • Apply rust-resistant undercoats.

  • Caulk and seal seams.

  • Fill small dents or scratches with body filler.

  • Smooth surfaces to prepare boats for paint.


YOU'LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

Required:

  • Regular and reliable attendance.

  • Ability to stand working for several hours on a concrete floor.

  • Ability to manually move product and materials through regular physical exertion, including but not limited to lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling and bending.

  • Must work at a reasonable pace and within our quality and production standards to ensure timely completion of tasks while still maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Production standards may include potential overtime as required to meet customer needs.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both in writing and verbally


Preferred:

  • Manufacturing or assembly experience.

  • Knowledge and previous experience using basic hand and power tools.

  • Painting knowledge and/or experience.
