Pay: $28-$32 hour

SUMMARY: The estimator is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate quote delivery to our customers; thus, reviewing customer specifications and drawings, developing bills of materials and evaluating labor requirements to accurately estimate project costs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Analyze and interpret blueprints to prepare time, cost, material, and labor estimates and understand manufacturing requirements.
  • Analyze historical quotes to create and ensure competitive bids for future products/projects.
  • Consults with clients, vendors, and other internal personnel to formulate estimates and resolve issues.
  • Manage estimating process from request for proposal to internal review of completed proposal.
  • Assists with the creation of cost standards in the estimating process to ensure consistency in pricing and competitiveness.
  • Works as part of a cross functional team on special projects.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
     
Requirements
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Able to read complex engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Knowledge of fabrication equipment and tooling and their capabilities.
  • Solid knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, and their capabilities.
  • Strong project management and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong computer software skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as a part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in oral and written forms.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as work instructions, safety rules, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and time to meet all specified deadlines.
     
Education And/Or Experience
  • Associate degree in engineering or technical program preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience preferred.
  • Experience in metal fabrication is highly favorable.
