Environmental Scientist - Greenhouse Gas Specialist

Job description:

TUV SUD-Ruby Canyon is seeking an entry-level professional to join our team. The full-time, multi-disciplinary position will have the opportunity to potentially work in a wide variety of sectors including agriculture and forestry (AFOLU), CFCs/HCFCs, chemical, coal mine methane, livestock (dairy and hog farms), manufacturing, oil & gas, renewable energy, transportation and waste.

Job duties and expectations include:

Participate as a team member on carbon project validation and verifications to assist with technical data review, data analysis, document review, site visits to projects and report writing.

Be a team player, a quick learner, have strong written and verbal communications skills, possess a commitment to excellence, and the ability to work independently.

Be able and willing to travel globally (primarily North America) for work.

Candidate will have the opportunity to become a Lead Auditor and manage their own projects and clients in future years.

Location:

Office in Grand Junction, CO for one or two years. After that time, Ruby Canyon is potentially open to remote/home office options.

Required Qualifications:

B.S. in relevant Engineering or Science subject

Ability to perform complex calculations, data analysis, and draft technical reports

Excellent organizational skills related to time, client, project management, attention to detail, with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Advanced skills in standard software packages including MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

Graduate level degree in Engineering or Science

Experience with GHG emissions inventories (Scope 1,2,3) and carbon projects

Spanish language proficiency

Desired Qualifications:

Experience with auditing

Experience in carbon markets or climate change policy

Experience with sustainability programs, net zero, carbon footprints, or life-cycle analysis
