Job Description

Purpose of Job

This casual position is responsible for carrying out programs and treatment, or portions thereof, as planned with a Physical Therapist.

Job Functions

  1. Performs treatment, documents care, and discharges client cases according to RMC and professional standards.
  2. Provides current and quality treatment, utilizing Ridgeview and professional resources to promote continued quality care.
  3. Communicates with patient, health care providers, insurer and others to ensure that patient needs are addressed.
  4. Exhibits working knowledge of hours of operation, customer base, department operations, visit procedures and chart audit procedures.
  5. Understands and uses reimbursement and regulatory guidelines for care and environment.
  6. Understands and uses patient and agency operations followingHome Healthpolicy and guidelines.
  7. Provides professional and courteous customer service to internal and external customers.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education/Work Experience

  • Associate degree in physical therapy assistant from APTA accredited program

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to work independently and organize tasks
  • Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions
  • Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
  • Ability to exhibit flexibility, self-control and maturity in work and behavior
  • Ability to promoteHome Healthservices
  • Ability to flex schedule with or without prior notification in order to meet customer needs
  • Ability to serve patients in a friendly and efficient manner
  • Knowledge of basic computer functions and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations
  • Ability to work autonomously and as a team
  • Capable of making independent decisions with the use of good critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above

License/Certifications

  • Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant, valid in Minnesota
  • Current Healthcare Provider CPR Certification
  • Valid MN driver's license, car insurance, and meets Ridgeview's insurabilityrequirements
