Job Description
Job Brief

Under the supervision of the Lead Technician, the Lab Technician performs tests on finished products and raw materials to determine that the materials being processed meet required company formulas, quality, and standards.

JOB DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Note: The job functions relate to the job, not the individual)
  • Conduct testing processes and procedures to perform physical and analytical product quality tests on finished syrup and beverage, inspect raw materials, and perform microbiological testing. Use laboratory test equipment and apparatus to conduct tests.
  • Send product samples to parent company.
  • Run control drink on finished syrups to ensure taste and quality.
  • Perform quality test on consumer complaint to determine problem and cause. Notify proper personnel if adjustments needs to be made.
  • Maintain files and test results, record corrective procedures, control reports and supporting data in accordance with prescribed procedures.
  • Follow all clean up and housekeeping procedures. Company with quality, safety, food safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Perform finished package tests (Seam).
  • Maintain accurate data in computer database.
  • Perform RO and water quality tests.
  • Microbiological testing of raw materials, equipment, and finished product.
  • Submit appropriate product samples to parent companies in a timely manner.
  • Maintain an orderly and sanitary conduction of Q.A. lab at all times.
  • Run appropriate tests on water and RO systems.
  • Ensure accuracy of equipment through calibration and documentation.
JOB DUTIES/MARGINAL FUNCTIONS (Not fundamental job duties)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires high school diploma.
  • Requires basic mathematical skills and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Requires the ability to operate and utilize laboratory and test equipment.
  • Must have the ability to problem solve and good communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of soft drink operations and SPC is preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to use a computer.
  • Must be a team player.
