Job Brief

Under the supervision of the Quality Assurance Lead and Quality Assurance manager, the Sanitary Worker is responsible for the internal and external sanitation laws and plant standards.

JOB DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Note: The job functions relate to the job, not the individual)

  • Inspect products and equipment for conformity to sanitation laws and standards.
  • Confer with management and production personnel on sanitation problems, and recommends changes in equipment, plant layout, lighting, ventilation, or work practices to improve sanitation standards and purity of product.
  • Compile required reports regarding regular inspections, sanitation violations, and steps taken to resolve deficiencies.
  • Develop housekeeping standards and monitor cleaning practices.
  • Monitor conduction of sanitation equipment and report any deterioration conductions or mechanical concerns.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on machines as needed.
  • Assist in cleaning of non-production areas in facility.
  • Recycle materials and sort waste.
  • Interpret sanitation schedule and plan time to accommodate requirements, setting priorities.
  • Perform assignments according to schedule, but also be able to think through and make correct decisions if a change is required.
  • Work safely, follow safety requirements, and wear PPE where required.
  • Safe/skilled usage of a forklift if necessary.
  • Understand computer keyboard usage, commands, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Understand sanitation theory and methodology.
  • Keep detailed and accurate records.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Requires the ability to drive a forklift and must pass forklift safety course.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time and be able to occasionally lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Must be able to report to work on a consistent basis and be able to work well with others in a tam setting.
  • Requires basic mathematical knowledge and computer skills.
  • Must be able to tolerate hot temperatures for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to take direction from a Lead and/or Supervisor.
