Job Description
Fincantieri Marinette Marine, a Fincantieri Marine Group Company, is a progressive shipyard specializing in building ships for the United States Navy. We currently have an opportunity for a Warehouse Manager at our Marinette, Wisconsin location.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Warehouse Manager is responsible and accountable for all Warehouse processes and procedures related to material receipt, storage, distribution. Facility Safety, Security and provides supervision and direction to Warehouse Foremen, Clerks and union personnel in the material handling trade working in the Warehouse. Includes the Government Warehouse area and any offsite Warehoused material.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Material Management Control Systems
  • Design and develop processes, procedures and controls that assure material control/accountability from receipt, storage and distribution to production.
  • Review and evaluate the organizations material management operations, update or develop process documentation, streamline opportunities, and eliminate non-value added activities.
  • Provide leadership guidance and training for direct reports and other elements of the organization to establish clear process discipline expectations.
  • Audit processes, procedures and individuals to assure process discipline and individual accountability.
  • Emergent Material Issues
  • Coordinating the efficient resolution of emergent material issues to support daily production operations, maintaining system integrity and material accountability.
  • Assist with prioritization of emergent material issues with PP&C Material Management Group.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Safety and Security of the Warehouse facility, personnel and material.
  • Enforces all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Manages and directs salary Foremen and Clerks.
  • Manages and directs union hourly personnel in the material handling trade assigned to the Warehouse IAW the terms and conditions of the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Manages the Government Warehouse area and any offsite warehousing.
  • Assumes ownership and responsibility for all material received, store, and distributed to production.
  • Manages work schedules, shifts and overtime to meet production demands.
  • Evaluates and provides training requirements for staff.
  • Provides performance evaluations for salary employees.
  • Generates the annual Capital Improvements Request for tooling, equipment and facilities.
  • Manages the Warehouse Departments Annual Budget.
  • Monitors and reports on performance metrics and KPI's

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises 1 to 15 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Demonstrates leadership skills that align with the mission, vision, and values of the Company.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee's workspace is in a clean and comfortable climate-controlled setting with little to no exposure to the moving equipment, elements, extreme conditions, or risk of injury. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. When entering the shipyard, the work environment is not climate-controlled and there is exposure to moving equipment, etc.
