We are seeking aself-motivated, sales-oriented individual to join our GuarantyMortgage team as a Loan Officer for our Minneapolise market. Using strongsales skills and financial knowledge, this individual will be responsible fordeveloping, soliciting and negotiating new business and loan referrals using anetwork of resources.
As the Loan Officer, theprimary responsibilities will be:
* Utilize and develop a network of resources for mortgageloan business development and solicitation for newbusiness.
- Utilize, manage and market to a database of customercontacts.
- Maintain a positive sales environment by educating potential borrowerson the Company’s products and services; create and deliver presentationswhen necessary.
- Interview perspective applicants and obtain specified informationrelating to the loan or credit application; correspond with applicant viatelephone, email or in-person to resolve questions regarding applicationinformation.
- Performprequalification assessment and analysis of financial condition and risk offinancing requests within the Company’s credit policies and programs, aswell as all state and federal lending regulations.
- Negotiate terms of loan and conditions.
- Collectup-front fees from applicant.
- Approveloans within established lending limits.
- Coordinate processing of approved loans with assigned LoanProcessor.
- Assistwith, and solve, problems relating to processing, underwriting and closing ofloans within employee’s loan portfolio.
- Developand maintain knowledge and data relating to the financial industry, economy,market conditions, rates, vendors and competition.
- Represent the Company in various community and civic functions toenhance the Company’s image and develop additionalbusiness.
- Consistently apply superior decision making techniques relating toapplicant inquiries, approvals, and requests as they pertain to existingpolicies and procedures.
- Otherduties as assigned.
The qualified candidatewill have a high-school diploma and a minimum of 1-year mortgagesales experience or a residential real estate background. Must have strongsales skills and be able to effectively give presentations to businesscolleagues and customers. Exceptionalverbal and written communication skills are required. Must have sound knowledge of state and local real estatemarkets. Strong PC skills,including Power Point, Excel, Word and Lotus Notes arerequired.
