Position summary:
The procurement/asset management position will develop and maintain a constant supply chain to procure commodities needed for repair / refurbishment of equipment for resale. In addition responsibilities are to develop and maintain a process for excess inventory disposal management. This position will concentrate on laboratories and or related companies that are research, industrial, analytical and hospital.
Work environment is fast paced, drives continuous process improvement where change is the norm; individual must be able to quickly adapt and learn. Position requires individual to recall specific details about customer’s needs, inventory on hand and demand as well as many other details simultaneously and instantly. Ability to multitask is essential for effective job execution. Individual will spend up to 20% of time working offsite with occasional travel.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Individual has a primary responsibility to maintain knowledge practices relating to supply chain and procurement and assets management with an emphasis on laboratory. Individual will coordinate activities and information, and prioritize outcomes to meet the needs of the customer and company’s inventory needs.

Liaise with sales and management team to ascertain procurement needs and issues.

Customer site visits for instrumentation assessment, estimating, photography

Serve as backup for laboratory procurement issues from other countries worldwide.

Provide relevant feedback to issues and concerns of international procurement.

Liaise with outside organizations/individuals with respect to asset management.

Establish and maintain close working relationships with the staffs of the relevant procurement and asset management teams in our market.

Negotiate price on both sales & recovery of assets

Undertake other duties as assigned
Skills and knowledge:
Qualified Individual must have ability to negotiate and make quick decisive decisions. Excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills are required. Individual must have above average computer skills and ability to pay close attention to detail. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with others are essential for job execution. Individual must have outgoing personality and ability to create and sustain sound vendor/ supplier relationships.

Ability to work independently with light supervision

Must have 3-4 years experience as a procurement/asset management.

Demonstrated knowledge of the technical issues that arise in procurement of laboratory equipment.
