When the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) opens an affirmative action compliance review, it sends an organization a “scheduling letter.” The scheduling letter includes an itemized listing that requests particular statistical reports and narrative items that must be included in the information submitted to OFCCP. In October 2014, the itemized listing underwent dramatic changes when the number of items increased from 11 to 22, and the nature of the information provided to OFCCP expanded dramatically. For example, federal contractors and subcontractors must now provide detailed compensation data on individual employees at the start of a compliance review, and companies must provide statistical information regarding protected veterans and individuals with disabilities.
